Inauguration of Structural Glass Research and Testing (SGRT) Facility

The world class Structural Glass Research and Testing (SGRT) Facility, a joint venture initiative of GSI and IIT Madras was formally inaugurated on 26th July 2013 at the Structural Laboratory, Civil Engineering Department of IIT Madras. 

The SGRT Facility was inaugurated by the Director, IIT Madras, Prof Bhaskar Ramamurthy in the presence of Mr R Subramanian, Chairman, Glazing Society of India, Prof P Sriram, Dean - Admin & Acting Dean - IC&SR, IITM, Members from Glazing Society of India, Federation of Safety Glass and Faculty Members and Research Scholars of IITM. 

The SGRT Facility would provide the glazing industry, the construction sector and academic institutions with complete testing capacity for determining, understanding and analysing the structural characteristics of glass and glazing products.
