Fenestration Experts Meet on BEE Window Labelling Program

Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), United Nations Development Program (UNDP), Global Environmental Facility (GEF) and Glazing Society of India (GSI) had successfully organized the Fenestration Experts Meet on BEE’s Window Labelling Programme on 9th September 2014 at India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. 

Fenestration Experts Meet was the third stakeholder meeting organized for Facade Manufacturers, Consultants and Experts in India to discuss and deliberate on the draft BEE’s Window Labelling Program for Energy performance. The draft Window Labelling Program is based on the inputs given by the BEE technical Committee and the background research done by CEPT University, Ahmedabad. 

The gathering was addressed by Mr Sanjay Seth, Energy Economist, Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Mr R Subramanian, Chairman, GSI and Managing Director, Saint Gobain Glass India Limited, Mr Mahesh Arumugam, Director, Meinhardt Facade Technology Pvt Ltd. and the draft Window Labelling programme was presented by Prof Rajan Rawal, Executive Director, Centre for Advanced Research in Building Science and Energy, CEPT University. 

The presentation was followed by an interactive discussion session, where the inputs and suggestions from the participants were received for the draft BEE's Window Labelling program. Overall the initiative of BEE’s Window Labeling program was highly appreciated and there was a wide consensus for the launch of the Program in India. 

The event had 45+ participants from Facade manufacturers, Fenestration Consultants, Experts, Window manufacturers, Glass Manufacturers etc.
