The first phase of NEO (National Energy efficiency Outreach) Programmes, an innovative and joint initiative by Centre for Environment and Planning Technology (CEPT) and Glazing Society of India (GSI) was a grand success. Conceived as a means to disseminate knowledge on Energy Efficiency in Building Envelopes through a workshop format, the Programmes were held in seven cities over a period of seven weeks. The seven cities included New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Pune and Ahmedabad.

The primary objective of the NEO Programmes was capacity building to help in Implementation of the Energy Conservation Building Code (ECBC), by training industry professionals. NEO received support from Shakti Sustainable Energy Foundation and the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), under Ministry of Power, Government of India.
